3. Use Business-Grade Antivirus

Consumer antivirus is not designed for business use. Next-generation endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools use behavioural analysis to detect attacks that signature-based antivirus misses.

4. Train Your Staff

People are targeted because they work. Regular training on recognising phishing, safe clicking habits, and reporting suspicious activity significantly reduces the risk of a successful attack.

5. Back Up — and Test It

Ransomware encrypts your files. The only guaranteed recovery is a tested backup. Back up regularly, keep a copy offsite or in the cloud, and test that you can actually restore from it.
